Bandana Tewari is a Lifestyle Journalist and Sustainability Advocate is set to act as 'Festival Patron at the upcoming Sri Lanka Design Festival 2024. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka that takes place in line with the Design Festival is a landmark initiative that bridges local talent with global fashion platforms. Stemming from a partnership between Dimo—Mercedes-Benz’s brand custodian in Sri Lanka—and AOD, and held as part of the Sri Lanka Design Festival in 2024, it takes fashion to the center stage within a greater narrative of design, creativity, and innovation in a time of transformation.
Tewari, a TEDx speaker and writer, she has given key-note speeches across the world about compassionate fashion and conscious consumption, sustainability, and spirituality, with a special focus on Gandhi & Fashion and the need for sartorial integrity. Her speaker assignments have taken her to countries as varied as Berlin, Sydney, Muscat, Kolkata, Logos, and Jakarta amongst others.
As Vogue India’s https://www.vogue.in/ Editor-at-Large for 13 years, Bandana was responsible for planning, visualizing and ideating fashion features for the ultimate style bible. Her ringside view of the rapidly evolving industry coupled with her signature ability to take the long view in every commentary has made her a globally recognised voice in fashion lifestyle and sustainability.
Today, Bandana lives in Bali and contributes to
several global magazines. Bandana’s pieces have appeared in well-regarded publications such as Atmos, The New York Times, Vogue Arabia, Vogue India, Harper’s Bazaar India, Elle India, Vogue Portugal, Vogue US, Vogue UK, Wallpaper, Platform, RoadBook and Tank, in addition to several leading Indian newspapers such as, Hindustan Times and The Hindu.

She is currently Creative Advisor to Good Earth, the foremost lifestyle brand in India. She is also Creative Advisor on the Himalayan Knot program- a joint program between Royal Enfield and UNESCO that brings together Himalayan communities, conservation specialists, craftspeople and artisans and fashion designers to conserve pastoral lands, safeguard the living heritage, and preserve local livelihoods.
She was the curator of "Sama Sama- Asamasama" for The Upside Space- Fubai-based NFT art exhibition showcasing young Indonesian artists' diverse artwork.
Recently, she collaborated with Pakistani designer Huma Adnan and UNHCR for “Project Zindagi” aimed to empower female refugees from Afghanistan through artisanal craftsmanship on the occasion of World Refugee Day.
She is a Special Advisor to Copenhagen Fashion Summit and sits on several advisory boards—NEST (NYC), Redress (Hong Kong), Global Fashion Agenda (Stockholm), Fashinnovation (New York), and a member of the British Fashion Council Community.
