About the Experience : A Palette of French Cuisine

During MBFW a one-off four course set menu designed to progress through French art history, from Impressionism to Modernism, with dishes inspired by the defining elements of each artist's work.

 

Course 1: The Impression of Light and Color

Artist: Claude Monet (Impressionism) | Inspiration: Water Lilies and the vibrant, fresh palette of his garden.

Course 2: The Structure of Form and Place

Artist: Paul Cézanne (Post-Impressionism) |Inspiration: His still life paintings of fruit and the rugged, geometric landscapes.

 

Course 3: The Perspective of the Modern City

Artist: Gustave Caillebotte (Realism/Impressionism) | Inspiration: Paris Street; Rainy Day and dramatic use of perspective and modern urban life.

 

Course 4 / Dessert: The Celebration of Color and Simplicity

Artist: Henri Matisse | Inspiration: The bold, pure blocks of color and organic, simplified forms of his Cut-Outs.
